Niveau requis
Cette soirée est annoncée en Salsa, Bachata et Kizomba : deux répertoires cohabitent donc dans la même salle.
La Salsa se danse sur huit temps avec un temps d'appui suspendu, qui demande un peu de pratique.
Un cours en début de soirée permet de fixer le pas de base et l'accent du premier temps — la seule chose réellement indispensable pour entrer dans une piste. C'est aussi là qu'on apprend à s'insérer dans une rueda sans la faire dérailler.
La Bachata s'appuie sur un pas de base à quatre temps, avec un accent marqué au quatrième (le « tap » de hanche).
Le cours qui ouvre la soirée sert surtout à caler le tap et le placement du bassin ; c'est aussi le moment où l'on repère les habitués et où les couples se forment pour la suite. Une heure suffit généralement pour tenir une première danse sans se marcher dessus.
La Kizomba se danse en couple, très proche, sur des appuis lents, où la connexion compte plus que les figures.
Quand un cours précède le social, l'entrée dans la danse est nettement plus douce : on y voit la posture, le transfert de poids et la marche de base, soit exactement ce qui manque le plus aux débutants une fois la piste pleine. Les danseurs confirmés en profitent souvent pour réviser un détail technique avant que le niveau sonore ne monte.
Un temps d'initiation étant annoncé, un danseur qui débute peut venir dès l'ouverture et enchaîner sur le social.

We're back to our Saturday afternoon Bootcamp Sessions in September with special guest Nicolai V and a Calle Ocho Reunion!

We'll kick things off with a salsa class with Nicolai downstairs and kizomba class upstairs with Darren Hardy.
And at 8PM, our 3 ROOM evening social begins, with salsa in the main room, kizomba upstairs, and our new downstairs bachata room!
In the main salsa room, music will be courtesy of our resident DJs, DJ Lubi and Dr Salsa and guest DJ Fabio Bahia - for those that remember, it's a Calle Ocho Reunion (one of the best loved dance nights in Leeds latin dance's history).

Nicolai is one of the OGs of the Leeds salsa scene and he brings many, many, many years of experience to his teaching. We're delighted to bring him back to Sabor y Salsa to run an On1 Salsa bootcamp and do the social class.
